HP targets millennials with amped-up media features in mobile devices

HP is hoping crisp displays and high end speakers will help laptops appeal to millenial buyers.

The new HP is targeting millennials with flashy laptop specs, but in a declining market is it enough?

HP's strategy is to capture young professionals with mobile devices that can be used at home or in the office. There's special emphasis on great audio and video.
HP is touting the EliteBook Folio as the world's thinnest and lightest business class notebook. This 12 inch notebook has an optional 4K display, and handles high performance requirements with a 6th generation Intel Core processor. There are Bang & Olufsen speakers and a keyboard to launch calls and video chats. Security capabilities include an optional fingerprint or smart card reader. The notebook is expected to be available in March starting at [1100 dollars] $1,099.
The HP Spectre x360 is a convertible PC with an aluminum body. The machine is the thinnest 15-inch convertible PC on the market. The hinge lets the device transition into four modes including stand mode for movies and video, tent mode for touchscreen entertainment, notebook mode to work and tablet mode for mobile productivity. The 4K display and Bang and Olufsen quad speakers should satisfy audio and videophiles. The Sprectre x360 is scheduled to be available on Feb. 14 starting at [1,150] $1,149.
