While it might seem as though all the big retailers and tech vendors have exhausted their Black Friday 2015 marketing schemes, a few more came to light this week.
Free Data from Verizon
Verizon Wireless is offering customers 1GB of data free now and another on their next billing cycle simply by visiting this page. The idea being that you're likely to chow down more data over the holidays, especially those who might want to stick their faces in their phone to avoid relatives and do Black Friday shopping.
Once Verizon gets you on the site they will attempt to entice you with some more deals that no doubt will come with a few gotchas here and there: a $5 iTunes gift card, free ebooks and movies on Amazon and free airport WiFi via Boingo.
Amazon Primed for Black Friday
Amazon, meanwhile, hasn't quite revealed its Black Friday deals but like so many others has bastardized the term Black Friday (if that's even possible) to mean pretty much every other day of the week between now and then.
Nearly 2 dozen Deals of the Day will roll out between Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday itself. Amazon Prime members will get a jumpstart on accessing many additional Lightning Deals, as will those using the Amazon Mobile Shopping App.
Amazon's deals, which will be available at various times starting Friday, Nov. 20, include:
*Kindle Paperwhite for $100 rather than the usual $120
*$25 off Amazon Fire TV
*Up to 45% off select Samsung and LG TVs
*Up to 40% off select Acer desktops, monitors, Chromebooks and tablets
Newegg could have Black Friday shoppers scrambling
Separately, online retailer Newegg says its Black Friday deals start on Monday, Nov. 23, as it pushes the notion of people hanging with family and shopping online rather than battling it out with strangers at actual stores. Newegg's deals include lots of PCs, offerings for makers and gaming goods galore.
Examples of deals include:
*ASUS EeeBook Laptop with 2GB of memory and 32GB SSD for $170, which is $80 off.
*Samsung Galaxy 7-inch Tab 3 for $80 -- $60 off.
*Windows 10 Pro 64-bit for $120, down from $140.
*Samsung 60-inch 1000p Smart LED HDTV for $700 -- $1,000 off. (Dang!)
