Fixing Stagefright was again the focus in the world of Android updates this week. Plenty of Verizon devices and AT&T’s Galaxy Note 4 joined the club of devices patched for the Stagefright vulnerability.

It’s a big vulnerability, so pay attention to that update button if your device hasn’t been updated yet.

Each week, we compile all the major software updates to hit the ecosystem, including phones and tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android Wear smartwatches, and Android TV devices. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs and gaping security holes (like Stagefright!).

AT&T

Galaxy Note 4: Look for an over-the-air update with “device security enhancements” targeted at Stagefright. After I got the update on my device, I ran the Symantec Stagefright detector app and it found I was in the clear. Unfortunately, you’re still stuck on Android 5.0.1.

Verizon

Galaxy Note Edge: The original curved phone is getting a patch to prevent you from those malicious MMS messages. A Verizon update should be ready for you now.

Galaxy S6 Edge: Not only do you get a Stagefright fix, but Verizon is bumping you all the way up to Android 5.1.1.

Galaxy S6: Same here for the non-curved edition: a Stagefright fix and Android 5.1.1. Grab your update from Verizon.

Galaxy Tab 4 10.1: One of Samsung’s many tablets is getting love too, with this device also joining the Android 5.1.1 parade.

Sprint

HTC One M8: It’s Stagefright patch time for you, so be sure to hit that update button if the fix from Sprint is ready to roll out your way.

Nexus

Stagefright: Google added two more sets of factory images that include the Stagefright patch for the T-Mobile and Project Fi versions of the Nexus 6. You can download them directly from Google.
