Angry Birds return!

There’ve been lots of Angry Birds games in recent years, but until this week never a true sequel to the original.

Angry Birds 2

There have been so many variations on Angry Birds the last few years—just in Star Wars games alone—but never an official sequel. The wait is over: Angry Birds 2 is a freemium iOS game that offers even more challenges, more pigs, and, as the game makers say, “more destruction.” Have fun!

The $5 Boxer email client for iOS launched this week in Version 6.0, this time introducing contacts and a calendar into the app. There’s also a new full-screen iPad view, as well as Apple Watch support for notifications.

Guerilla Filmmaker is a $4 iPhone app that gives aspiring video directors manual control over exposure, white balance, focus, and timed automation sequences. The latter feature lets you set up a shot in advance—then record it, hands-free.

We told you a couple of weeks ago about the Blue Apron app, which features cooking tips and access to the eponymous meal-kit delivery service. HelloFresh is pretty much the exact same thing, only for this app’s eponymous meal-kit delivery service. It’s a way to ensure “hassle-free, fresh and delicious meals every night of the week!”

Switch

A phrase we didn’t realize we’d use: Switch is like Tinder for job-hunters, only without the morning after walk of shame. The makers say: “Imagine you could just ‘swipe right’ and directly and anonymously apply to a job? Switch immediately connects you with the world’s leading companies - Amazon, Salesforce, Staples, Apple, Fox, Google, Walmart, Facebook, Gap, IBM, StateFarm, Microsoft, Yahoo!, eBay, Nationwide, DropBox, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, and more.”

Yahoo! Livetext

Yahoo Livetext is like Google Hangouts, only later to arrive. It features video calls and one-on-one text messaging abilities. If you’re resisting Google’s charms, here’s an alternative for you.

VSCO Cam

VSCO Cam adds a new social feature—collections—that lets you “interact with the photographers who move you most by saving and sharing their work within your own gallery.” One other new feature in the app: You can take photos by pressing your phone’s volume button.
