Jim Carrey's Twitter feed, which has 14.7 million followers, typically is filled with lines you might find in a book of Zen quotes:
"All that you see and all that you don't see, is you. Feel that and be free. There are no two things."
"No doubt, there are reasons for your worries, no one could dispute, but that doesn't make them any less useless. It's ok to let them go."
Tuesday night, however, Carrey had problems letting go of his own worries regarding California's new mandatory vaccination law, to which he is violently opposed. In fact, he unleashed a barrage of angry/defensive tweets that went a little something like this:
Supporters of the new California law, which prohibits "personal belief" exemptions, argue that the growing number of parents in the state who refuse to vaccinate their children led to a measles outbreak that started at Disneyland late last year and infected 150 people across the West.
The Los Angeles area in particular is a stronghold of vaccination opponents, as Jimmy Kimmel noted recently in this video showing doctors -- some rather passionately -- urging parents to get their kids vaccinated.
