Dustin Diamond has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for stabbing another man in a Wisconsin bar on Christmas night last year.

We don't even know where to begin. There's the fact that Diamond, 38, who played  "Screech" in the '90s sitcom "Saved By the Bell," was in a bar on Christmas night, which in itself is sad.

Then there's the fact that he had a switchblade on him in a bar on Christmas night. What kind of holiday spirit is that?

The judge did not buy Diamond's testimony that he was acting in self-defense, though his conviction on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct could have drawn a nine-month sentence.

A couple of years ago Diamond told Oprah (video below) that the sex tape he released in 2006 was the thing he is "most embarrassed about," even more than his gloating and showboating in 2002 while beating up a guy (actor Ron Palillo of "Welcome Back, Kotter") who was more than 50 years old at the time and six weight classes below Diamond during the second Celebrity Boxing show on Fox in 2002.

The jail stint for a Christmas night bar stabbing might eclipse those two stellar moments in Diamond's life. He should use that time to reflect.
