Before becoming famous for backing Bob Dylan, The Band worked the Canadian bar circuit and grabbed whatever other gigs they could. Including recording with Tiny Tim.

The Band backed up Tiny on "I Got You Babe," the super-corny duet written by Sonny Bono to perform with then-wife Cher, and "Be My Baby," the early '60s hit by The Ronettes.

In the YouTube video below you can hear "I Got You Babe," which was released as part of The Band's extended Basement Tapes.

Tiny also befriended The Beatles, so as an added bonus we've included Tiny chatting with George Harrison (to whom he refers to as "Mr. Harrison) before launching into a version of "Nowhere Man," accompanying himself on the ukulele.

This story, "When Tiny Tim recorded 'I Got You Babe' with The Band. Yes, that 'The Band'" was originally published by Fritterati.
