We'll never forget the sense of betrayal expressed by our older brother when he bought Extreme's Pornograffitti based on "More Than Words," the harmony-laden and entirely uncharacteristic ballad on a CD otherwise devoted to hard-rocking funk metal.
And he probably wasn't alone. Anybody who watched the MTV video of the song -- featuring two soulful, long-haired guys singing and emoting about love -- could be forgiven for thinking this is what they do all the time.
Well, it wasn't. But "More Than Words" has remained a popular song that has attracted a decent amount of covers. The latest, by Jimmy Fallon and Jack Black, is more comic homage than cover, but it's well-done and funny.
And even the Extreme guys like it!
