Cross Sony’s latest flagship off the list if you’re shopping around for a new phone on T-Mobile.
The magenta network is no longer selling it, instead directing you to the Xperia Z and Z1S if you’re dead set on getting a Sony handset.
Smartphone turnover moves fast, but usually not this quickly. Either T-Mobile is privy to some inside information about the rumored Xperia Z4 coming sooner than we thought, or the sales have been so lackluster it’s decided to just pull it off the shelves altogether.
The Xperia Z4 is rumored to look much the same as its previous edition with an upgrade to the newest Snapdragon processor, an upgrade that sounds as ho-hum as the HTC One M9. Either way, things aren’t looking up for Sony’s mobile efforts.
The story behind the story: While Sony executives have denied rumors the company is getting out of the mobile business, this isn’t a great indicator. With the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge generating a ton of buzz and excitement, Sony would really have to wow the public to gain some interest. Anything can happen, but signs definitely aren’t pointing that way.
